Camp DeSoto is located on top of Lookout Mountain in Mentone, AL. At an elevation of 1700 feet, Lookout Mountain marks the beginning of the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The banks of Little River, which carves a beautiful canyon through the stone of Lookout Mountain, provide an ideal spot for a summer camp.
Mentone, an incorporated town in DeKalb County, Alabama, is located just 45 miles southwest of Chattanooga, TN, 90 miles northeast of Birmingham, AL, and 100 miles west of Atlanta, GA.

Directions
From Birmingham, AL
Follow I-59N to Exit 231 (Valley Head/Hammondville/ Mentone). Turn right onto AL Hwy 117 and follow it to the top of Lookout Mountain into Mentone. Go through the flashing yellow light in the center of Mentone and continue for approximately 1 mile. Turn left on County Road 631. Go approximately 1/4 mile. Camp DeSoto is on the right. You will see our signs.
From Chattanooga, TN
Take I-24 W out of Chattanooga then I-59 S toward Birmingham, AL. Take Exit 231 (Valley Head/Hammondville/Mentone) and turn left onto AL Hwy 117. Follow Hwy 117 to the top of Lookout Mountain into Mentone. Go through the flashing yellow light in the center of Mentone and continue for approximately 1 mile on Hwy 117. Turn left on County Road 631. Go approximately 1/4 mile. Camp DeSoto is on the right.
From Atlanta, GA
Take I-75 N to Adairsville. Turn left onto GA 140 W. Follow GA 140 to the intersection of US Hwy 27. Turn right and follow US 27 N into Summerville, GA. In Summerville turn left on GA 48 W and follow through Menlo up Lookout Mountain. At the state line GA 48 becomes AL 117. Go approximately 7 miles. Take the first right past Moon Lake Baptist Church, which will be on your left as you enter Mentone. This is County Road 631. Camp DeSoto is 1/4 mile down this road on the right. You will see our signs.
From Huntsville, AL
Take I-565 East which becomes Hwy 72. Stay on Hwy 72 to Scottsboro. Turn right onto Alabama Hwy 35. Go approximately 3 miles across the Tennessee River. Immediately after crossing the river turn left onto Alabama Hwy 40. follow Hwy 40 across Sand Mountain until it becomes Alabam Hwy 117. Follow Hwy 117 up Lookout Mountain. Go through the flashing yellow light in the center of Mentone and continue for approximately 1 mile on Hwy 117. Turn left on County Road 631. Go approximately 1/4 mile. Camp DeSoto is on the right. You will see our signs.
